<p>PURPOSE: To largely increase an air collecting cross sectional area when a Mach number is increased by interlocking a fairing nose with a front flap to move forward in front of a fairing when the front flap moves in such a direction as to increase a cross sectional area of an air intake. CONSTITUTION: A two-dimensional and asymmetric air intake is composed of a front flap 3 forming a visor and a fairing 4. A movable fairing nose 6 is integrated with the front flap 3, it is positioned in front of the fairing 4, and when the front flap 3 moves in such a direction to increase an air intake cross sectional area, it moves in such a direction to increase a cross sectional area with it. In this constitution, they are at illustrated positions when a Mach number is low, and when the Mach number becomes high to move the flap 3 upward, the fairing nose 6 moves forward to increase the air collecting cross sectional area. The air collecting cross sectional area can thus be increased when the Mach number is increased.</p> |
