PURPOSE:To make it possible to realize the precise molding of an edge face with no damage to the shape of a trimmed surface due to the peeling off of foamed resin from the trimmed surface by a method wherein the edge face of a primary molded item, which consists of a skin and a primary foamed resin layer, is cut off larger than the size required on the final molded item and, after that, a secondary foamed resin layer is molded onto the edge face. CONSTITUTION:By pouring foaming resin stock liquid in a cavity formed by clamping a top force 5 to a bottom force 2, to which a skin 1 is set, a primary molded item 10 consisting of a primary foamed resin layer 9a, which is integrally molded onto the rear of the skin 1. By trimming with water jet, an opening edge face 13 of an opening 12 is formed, the inner diameter of which is larger than that of the part mounting opening of a final molded item. By pouring foaming resin stock liquid in a space between the molded item 10, which is set in a bottom force 14, and a top force 17, which is clamped to the bottom force 14, a secondary foamed resin layer 9b is molded so as to obtain a final molded item 19. By molding as described above, since no skin 1 is bent with water jet and the edge face 13 is completely covered by the resin layer 9b, no foamed resin peels off. |
