PURPOSE:To improve the performance of a resist against an alkaline etching solution by incorporating a specified copolymer resin in an image forming particle contd. in the subject agent. CONSTITUTION:The copolymer resin is incorporated in the image forming particle contd. in the agent which is used for the preparation of the printing plate. The copolymer resin is composed of a copolymer obtd. by polymerizing monomers shown by formulas I-III in a copolymerizing ratio (wt.%) of (40-98):(1-49):(0.1-10), and has a number average mol.wt. of a range of 5X10<3>-5X10<5>, and a softening point of a range of 40-150 deg.C. In formulas I-III, R1 and R1' are each hydrogen atom or methyl group, R2 is 4-22 C a straight chain or a branched alkyl group, R3 is a group shown by formula IV, etc., A and B are each -(CH2)n- group, (n=1-4), X<-> is an anion, R4-R6 are each 1-12 C a straight or a branched alkyl group or hydrogen atom. Thus, the stability of the agent against the alkaline etching solution is improved. |
