The present invention relates to the production of a rigid formwork 35 having a formwork face 36 of defined configuration. This formwork is produced from at least one flexible sheet 43 of fibrous material which is loose and wettable by a defined liquid material which can solidify, and the formwork face 36 is produced by means of one face of this sheet 43 which is then stiffened by impregnating it with the said defined liquid material which can solidify, and which is then allowed or made to solidify; in the case of a plane formwork face 36, this face is preferably shaped by tightening the sheet or sheets 43 between anchoring supports 33, 34 which may advantageously constitute elements of a structure to which another element 37 is to be integrated, which other element 37 is produced by means of the formwork 35. Such production provides great flexibility of adaptation to various possible configurations of the formwork face and makes it possible to simplify considerably the operations for producing and disassembling the formworks; when it is used in the production of slabs or shuttering floor slabs, it is possible to dispense totally or almost totally with props. <IMAGE>
