PURPOSE:To obtain a simple and accurate temperature detector by making use of a repulsion between a superconducting material and a magnet when designing a switch mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A superconducting material 3 is attached to the inside wall of a container 1, and an insulating material 2 is attached to its portions other than the material 3. A magnet 4 is made to face the material 3 through a spring 7 and a supporting plate 9. When the temperature of the outside or that of its contact face lowers down to the critical temperature of the material 3, the material 3 is also cooled down to its critical temperature by heat transmission from the container 1 so that it is brought in its superconducting state, and then the material 3 and the magnet 4 repel each other because of a minus effect so that the magnet 4 is forced down. As a result of it, conducting materials 6 are brought into contact with each other to operate its switch. The magnet 4 is reset in its initial position when the temperature rises to above the critical temperature, so that the switch is off. A temperature detector is thus obtained which reacts to specific temperatures within a low-temperature area. |
