PURPOSE:To lessen a printing operation of an unnecessary head and thereby to improve a processing capacity by transferring only data necessary for representation of one picture element on the occasion when one picture element is recorded by a plurality of heads. CONSTITUTION:When first to third picture elements are recorded by using heads of four colors (BK), (Y), (M) and (C), only the data of Bk are transferred as to the data on the second picture element. In the case when the head for printing Bk is provided, in other words, another color superposed is absorbed by Bk in a picture element for which Bk is printed, and therefore it is unnecessary to transfer data other than Bk from a host 25 to a recording device. Accordingly, only Bk = 1 is transferred for the picture element for which Bk is printed, while all data on Y, M, C may be reproduced as 0 on the recording device side. In the case of the four colors Bk, Y, M, C, a control is made so that the data on the colors other than Bk are all omitted when the data on Bk is 1 and only the data on Bk = 1 are transferred to the recording device. On the recording device side, all the data on Y, M, C are always processed as 0 with respect to the second picture element of which only the data on Bk = 1 are transferred. |
