PURPOSE:To produce moldings of partially stabilized zirconia in excellent productivity and yield of product by calcining partially stabilized zirconia at a specific temperature, processing the calcined zirconia into desired shape and then sintering the processed zirconia. CONSTITUTION:A Y-stabilized zirconia powder containing Y2O3 is subjected to hydrostatic pressure pressing to provide moldings, calcined at 800-1000 deg.C, ground into desired final shape in consideration with shrinkage by calcining and then sintered. Thereby the partially stabilized zirconia having high toughness and excellent mechanical characteristics can be readily produced in large quantities. |
