PURPOSE:To enhance initial electron-emitting property and also reduce the rate of deterioration during life-time, by impregnating the alkaline earth metal oxide layer of an electron-tube-cathode with Sc, and also interposing a metallic layer containing either one kind among Pt, Ir, Rh between the surface of base metal and the alkaline earth metal oxide. CONSTITUTION:Sc is contained in the alkaline earth metal oxide layer of a electron-tube-cathode and also a metallic layer containing either one kind among Pt, Ir, Rh is interposed between the surface of its base metal and the alkaline earth metal oxide. The total amount of the Pt, Ir, Rh is from 10mug/cm<2> to 50mg/cm<2>. The Pt, Ir, Rh which is contained in the metallic layer formed on the base metal acts as an activating agent for enhancing the effect of the Sc, thereby enhancing initial electron-emitting property, and also reducing the rate of deterioration during the service life. |
