PURPOSE:To provide the title kneaded substance emitting peculiar aroma, formed into a porous structure having proper hardness and softness and having lightweight properties and hydrophilicity by fixing a powder of natural wood by a polyvinyl acetal resin having an open-cell structure. CONSTITUTION:A void forming material added to an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol under stirring to prepare a dispersion and wood flour is mixed with said dispersion to obtain a homogenous viscous solution. It is necessary to adjust the viscosity of the dispersion before the mixing with the wood flour to 300-1500cps and, within this viscosity range, it becomes easy to uniformly knead the wood flour for the first time. For example, as the wood flour, a powder of natural wood having intensive aroma of the genus Chamarcyparis is pref. and, especially, the wood flour of Aomori hinoki containing hinoki oil and hinokitiol is pref. As the void forming material for imparting an open- cell structure, starch or a processed starch powder can be used. Next, aldehyde as a crosslinking agent and a catalyst are added to the homogenous viscous solution and the resulting mixture is transferred to a desired retaining mold to perform reaction. |
