PURPOSE: To intend to make connecting a runner easy, by detecting each gap with a sensor in order, triggering transfer of a belt piece in a guide with a stop finger, expanding the gap with an expander and by inserting the runner in the gap with an operator. CONSTITUTION: By a sensor 15 arranged near a belt guide 5, each gap 3 is detected in order and the stop finger 11 falls into the gap 3 to trigger the transfer of the belt piece 2 in the belt guide 5 till reaching a terminal. Then, an expander is inserted into the gap 3 to expand the gap 3, and the runner 1 is inserted into the expanded gap 3 by an operator 13. A sensor 16 is arranged near the inserted runner 1, and by the sensor 16 presence of the runner 1 is detected, closure of a clamp jaw 10 and reciprocal motion of a pulling-back slide 9 is triggered to connect to the runner 1. As a result, this device can be easily applied to various manufacturers to require the connection of a runner. |
