发明名称 CHEMICAL FORMING METHOD FOR HIGH ENERGY TYPE FE-NI BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To perform chemical formation process in one cycle by discharging an iron electrode till the second stage, refilling the electrolyte to the initial liquid surface, correcting so that the Li ion and S ion concentrations and specific gravity become respective specified values, and then performing overcharging. CONSTITUTION:Electrolyte for a Fe-Ni battery of high energy type shall be a one having kalium hydroxide to which 30-50g/l lithium hydroxide and 5-10g/l sulfuric compound in the form of K2S are added. First the Fe electrode is discharged, followed by discharging till the second stage until Fe(OH)2 and then FeOOH is produced. Then electrolyte is refilled to the initial liquid surface in order to compensate the water exhausted by hydro-electrolysis and sulfuric ions and lithium ions taken in the Fe electrode, to correct the electrolyte so as to have the abovementioned ion concentration and specific gravity, and thus overcharging is made. This allows completion of the chemical formation in one cycle.
