The invention concerns a glazing bar (5) for enclosing a glass window pane (1) on the inside, which glazing bar is burglar proof. To obtain such a property the glazing bar has to withstand the forces that are exerted by the window pane. Therefore the glazing bar has a substantial resistance against deflection in the direction perpendicular to the window pane. According to an embodiment, the bar is hollow, has a substantially rectangular section and is provided with a diagonal. According to a second embodiment the bar is provided with an external reïnforcing rib extending substantially in the direction perpendicular to the pane.
