摘要 PURPOSE:To provide ideal damping control with a simple construction comprising one kind of detecting means capable of measuring damping force by measuring the damping force only and controlling it with spring top absolute velocity estimated from the damping force and spring top relative velocity calculated from the damping force. CONSTITUTION:A damping force of a wheel section on a vehicle is detected with a damping force detecting means M2 and a spring top relative velocity in relation to the ground is calculated according to the damping force with a spring top relative velocity calculating means M3. Also, a spring top absolute velocity of the vehicle is estimated by means of a spring top absolute velocity estimating means 4 according to the damping force detected with the damping force detecting means M2, using parameters determined based on a dynamic model of vertical movement of the vehicle. A target damping force of the wheel section of the vehicle is determined on the estimated spring top absolute velocity and the spring top relative velocity calculated by the spring top relative velocity calculating means M3, and a command to alter the damping force of the wheel section of the vehicle to the target damping force is output to a damping force altering means M1 form a control means M5.
