PURPOSE:To correctly judge the life of a sealed lead-acid battery by detecting the rise of the charging voltage characteristic due to the gas generation at the terminal stage of a charge and detecting that the charge quantity at the fixed rising voltage value is the preset value or below. CONSTITUTION:The rise of the charging voltage characteristic due to the gas generation at the terminal stage of a charge is accelerated as the cycle number elapses, and the rising voltage is decreased. The charge quantity for the terminal Voltage of 2.5V/cell is 88%, 83%, 76%, 70%, 60% for 1, 100, 300, 500, 700 cycles respectively according to experiment. 100% or above, 92%, 80% of the rated capacity for 1-300, 300-500, 500-700 cycles are obtained respectively according to the capacity test for individual cycles. When the terminal voltage is 2.5V/cell or above for the charge quantity of 64%, the life is judged to have terminated. The life can be judged with high precision without using a special equipment. |
