PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent copied image with constant density by changing the intensity of destaticizing light in a destaticization stage corresponding to the temperature of a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:When the intensity of the destaticizing light applied to the photosensitive body in the destaticization stage is changed, the change is found in the dark attenuation of potential at which electrostatic charging is performed in a subsequent electrostatic charging stage. Namely, the dark attenuation is increased when the intensity of the destaticizing light is intensified and the dark attenuation is decreased when it is weakened. An image forming process that the intensity of the destaticizing light is weakened in the case that the temperature of the photosensitive body is high and the intensity thereof is intensified in the case that it is low can be accomplished by utilizing such a phenomenon, so that the variation of the dark attenuation in the case that the temperature of the photosensitive body is changed can be restrained. Thus, the excellent copied image with constant density can be obtained. |
