PURPOSE:To obtain an agricultural and horticultural germicide, containing S-(4-methylsulfonyloxyphenyl)-N-methylthiocarbamate and 2-mercaptopyridine- N-oxide or a metal salt thereof as active ingredients and capable of exhibiting high synergistic action in a small amount of the chemical. CONSTITUTION:An agricultural and horticultural germicide containing S-(4- methylsulfonyloxyphenyl)-N-methylthiocarbamate and 2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide or a metal salt thereof at (1:0.1)-(0.1:1) weight ratio. The above-mentioned germicide is capable of exhibiting remarkable effects on 'MURE-NAE' (damping-off) caused by fungi of the genus Pythiunm, and damping-off due to fungi of the genuses Phizopus, Fusarium or Trichoderma. Methods for mixing the chemical in all the composts are most effectively used as a method for treating soil with the chemical. |
