PURPOSE:To uniformly cool a metal strip by forming a metal-made roll for cooling the high temp. metal strip with shells having two layers at inner and outer parts and coolant circulating passage at a part between both shells and fixing both shells with welding at the remained part. CONSTITUTION:The metal-made roll for cooling the high temp. metal strip dy winding, is constituted with outer layer shell 1 and inner layer shell 2, and plural coolant passages 3 for cooling the roll between both shells 1, 2 are arranged at outer surface of the inner layer shell 2 or inner wall surface of the outer layer shell 1 and also at the part except the coolant passages, the outer layer shell 1 and the inner layer shell 2 are firmly fixed with welding to form the mutual contacting part 8. The outer layer shell 1 contacting with the high temp. metal strip becomes high temp., but as it is cooled with the coolant and also fixed to the mutual contacting part 8 with the low temp. inner layer shell 2, heat crawn is not formed at the outer layer shell 1, and as it is closely brought into contact with the whole surface in width direction of the metal strip to uniformly cool the metal strip, the development of deformation caused by uneven cooling is prevented. |
