PURPOSE:To attain higher speed of data decoding processing by using each decoding section of a picture decoder so as to process each inputted code in parallel based on a code quantity. CONSTITUTION:A code quantity calculation means 4 of a picture data compressor calculates code quantity information representing the code quantity of a reference gradation coded by coding means 1-3, a difference value and a resolution component and a code quantity transmission means 5 sends the code quantity information before the coded reference gradation value, a difference value and a resolution component are sent. A code quantity detection means 9 of a picture data decoder receiving a picture data decodes the coded code quantity information, detects the code quantity of the reference gradation, the difference and the resolution component sent from now and a signal distribution means 10 distributes inputted codes so that the code is processed in parallel with decoding sections 6-8 based on the code quantity. Thus, the decoding processing of the picture data is implemented in parallel at a high speed. |
