PURPOSE:To execute an address operation at a high speed by providing address data store means for storing address data of plural horizontal scanning line portions so as to be updatable in one horizontal scanning period of a discharge cell, and also, for outputting them in synchronism with a horizontal synchronizing signal. CONSTITUTION:The driving circuit is provided with address data storing means 22, 24 for storing address DATA1, DATA2 of plural horizontal scanning line portions so as to be updatable in one horizontal scanning period of a discharge cell 8, and also, for outputting them in synchronism with a horizontal synchronizing signal. In such a way, the address data DATA1, DATA2 of plural horizontal scanning line portions are stored in one horizontal scanning period of the discharge cell 8, and while updating them successively, a plasma display panel (PDP) is driven in synchronism with a horizontal synchronizing signal. Accordingly, in one horizontal period, plural address data DATA1, DATA2 are transferred, and a rewriting control of a display screen of the PDP 1 can be executed. In such a way, an address operation can be executed at a high speed. |
