PURPOSE:To arrange vertically a paper feeding passage, at the time of printing, and minimize the possibility of contamination of a printing paper by disposing a developing unit, a photosensitive drum unit, a fixing unit and paper-discharging rollers in that order from the upper side. CONSTITUTION:A printing paper discharged from a transferring unit 51, with the leading end thereof in contact with a guide member 52 of a cover body, is moved downward with the back side thereof along the guide member 52 as printing is conducted in an increasingly larger area. The paper is then fed into a fixing unit 44 while maintaining a curved condition, and a toner adhered to the face side of the paper is fixed. The paper is fed to the fixing unit 44 in the condition where the side of the paper to which the unfixed toner is adhered is opposed to a main body of a casing with a gap maintained therebetween, so that the toner adhered to the face side of the paper is not rubbed against the main body during the feeding of the paper to the fixing unit 44, in which the toner is fixed. The paper discharged from the fixing unit 44 is guided by a guide member 48, and is discharged through a paper- discharging port 3 by paper-discharging rollers 2, with the printed side down. |
