PURPOSE:To continue copying with the aid of simple constitution by detecting the size of an original with the aid of an automatic original size detecting function again, supplying a paper from a cassette where the recording paper of the detected size is incorporated and executing the copying when there is not any paper in the cassette which is used. CONSTITUTION:When the mode of a copying device is set to an APS mode, the number of copies is set and the copying operation is started by a start button, the original 2 on a platen glass 2 is scanned by moving optical systems 3 and 3a under the control of a control part 10 and the size of the original 2 is detected. The control part 10 successively collates the size of the recording paper in the cassettes 5-5c and selects the cassette where the recording paper of the detected size is incorporated. The moving optical systems 3 and 3a return to a start position once and scan the original 2 again by synchronizing with a photosensitive drum 4. With a lens 3b and a fourth mirror 3c, the image of the original 2 is exposed on the photosensitive drum 4. Then, the electrostatic latent image of the original image is formed on the photosensitive drum 4 and developed by an electrostatic charger 13, a developing device 14 and the like. Thus, the copying can be continued with the simple constitution. |
