PURPOSE:To decrease the entry mistakes with an address input device by showing an entry field having a necessary least character frame and a proper field name by means of an address hierarchical structure. CONSTITUTION:An address retrieving part 5, an entry format producing part 7, and screen process means 2 and 4 are prepared in addition to an address dictionary 6 which contains plural place name data and the place name data of the higher hierarchy pointing the place name data of the lower hierarchy. When an input place name is decided, the place name data decided by a place name already decided and a place name decided newly is obtained in the dictionary 6. Then the place name data of the lower hierarchy pointed by the obtained place name data is obtained. Based on this obtained place name data, the number of character frames and the name of an entry field are decided. These decided entry field and the field name having the decided number of frames are displayed on a display screen 3. Thus even an ordinary customer can correctly write the character strings showing an address into a prescribed entry field with no doubt. |
