PURPOSE:To easily determine the layout of a catalog, a handbill, etc., meeting certain requirements by storing a storage means with image data, character data, and attribute data corresponding to them, and retrieving desired image data and character data by a retrieval means. CONSTITUTION:The character data, basic layout data, image data, and attribute data which are inputted from input means 2 and 5 are stored in the storage means, and read out and displayed on a display means by a display control means 3 to simulate the layout. When the simulation is performed, the display control means 3 instructs attribute data meeting desired requirements and then image data and character data corresponding to the instructed attribute data are retrieved automatically and used for the simulation of the layout. Consequently, the operation load is reduced and a printing process is rationalized. |
