PURPOSE: To facilitate the assembly of a switch by arranging a bar-formed lock mechanism in a range between the ends of a bent return spring which contacts with both operating projection rods for guiding the ends of the return spring slidingly on two guide surfaces formed in a casing so as to tilt with respect to the projection rods in the longitudinal direction thereof. CONSTITUTION: A lock mechanism 38 is formed as a bar member arranged in a range between the ends of a common return spring 40 as a bent spring which contacts with both operating projection rods 4 and 4' for guiding the ends 39 and 39' of the return spring slidingly on two guide surfaces 6 and 6' formed in a casing so as to tilt with respect to the projection rods in the longitudinal direction thereof. One projection rod 4 or 4' not being operated is adapted to be locked immediately after the other projection rod 4' or 4 starts to move as its operation stroke to thereby neutrally position a sign drum 3 by some operation. The one bent spring 40 serves to not only return the projection rods to their original positions but also constitute the lock mechanism, which facilitates the assembly of the switch.
