PURPOSE:To maintain the number of overlapped parts in both end selvage parts of a cloth contstant and to make it possible to prevent the selvage parts from being turned in a dyeing process or the like, by controlling the traverse speed of a traverse device in accordance with a change in a detected rotational speed of a cloth winding device. CONSTITUTION:When the winding of a cloth is initiated by rotating a winding roll 1a, the rotation of the roll 1a is detected by a speed detector 3 and is converted by a controller 4 into a field current for a variable speed motor 2f in a traverse device 2. The variable motor 2f transmits the rotation with a ratio of 1:1 to a disk 2h in a crank mechanism, and therefore, the traverse is made at an ideal speed at which the degree of overlapping of both end selvage parts of a cloth 5 to be wound is least minimum. However, the more the wound diameter is increased, the more the load of a constant torque motor is increased so that the winding speed is decreased, thereby the variable speed motor 2f decelerates in asoociation with the detected deceleration. Thus, the degree of overlapping of both end selvage parts of the cloth included in a predetermined winding number is maintained in the same degree as that when the wound diameter is small, thereby the selvage parts are prevented from being turned. |
