PURPOSE:To increase capacity taken out from a battery by adding an alkali metal chloride to an electrolyte comprising a normal temperature molten salt. CONSTITUTION:An alkali metal chloride is added to an electrolyte comprising a normal temperature molten salt. The normal temperature molten salt used as the electrolyte is the molten salt, which is in a liquid state at normal temperature, comprising aluminium chloride and quarternary ammonium halide. As the alkali metal chloride to be added to the electrolyte, lithium chloride is preferable in terms of solubility. Since capacity taken out from a battery is increased with increase in chloride concentration, the alkali metal chloride is preferable to be added to a saturation point. Capacity taken out from a battery is increased. |
