PURPOSE:To cope with cutting requirements in a broad range by making the rotating speed of a Roots blower variable with an inverter, and performing laser operation from a low-speed gas flow to a high-speed gas flow. CONSTITUTION:In a laser oscillating apparatus using a Roots blower 1, the flow speed of a gas flowing through a discharge tube 4 depends on only the rotating speed of the Roots blower 1. Namely, when the rotating speed of the Roots blower 1 is changed with an inverter 7, the flow speed of the gas flowing through the discharge tube 4 can be controlled from the low speed to the high speed. The command for this operation can be imparted based on a machining program or can be set with parameters and the like. As a result, the low-speed gas-flow type and high-speed gas-flow type laser oscillations can be performed by one apparatus. In this way, cutting requirements of metal materials in a broad range can be handled. |
