PURPOSE:To obtain a coronary vasodilator applicable without causing the increase of pulse rate and blood pressure by using leaf of nicotineless tobacco and/or a water-soluble component of the combustion smoke tar of the leaf as active components. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent contains leaf of nicotineless tobacco having a nicotine-content of <0.30wt.% and/or a water-soluble component of the combustion smoke tar of the leaf (hereinafter called simply as component A) as active components. The component may be used as a peroral drug by conventional process of as a parenteral injection using distilled water, physiological saline water, aqueous solution of glucose, etc. It is administered at a dose of 0.1-5mg of the component A per 1kg of body weight. The component A may be added to a combustible material to form a cigarette or to a food to be used as a chewing gum. It is useful for the remedy and prevention of heart stroke by increasing the coronary blood flow without accompanying side actions undesirable to coronary function, e.g. increase of blood pressure and pulse rate and the contraction of peripheral vessel. |
