<p>PURPOSE:To reverse a steering wheel rapidly with self-restoring force without receiving the influence of the magnetic force in a motor so as to perform a desirable return action by extincting the current of the field winding of a motor in case the torque generated by the steering force is in the deadband. CONSTITUTION:A torque sensor 1 detects the torque generated to a steering shaft by operating a steering wheel and outputs a torque signal ST suitable for the torque. This signal ST is inputted into a control part 5 through an interface 4. The control part 5 first reads the torque on the basis of the signal ST and then the speed on the basis of a speed signal SS. The control part 5 further judges whether or not the detected torque is in the deadband after consulting a table of torque deadband set according to the speed. In case the detected torque is judged to be in the deadband, the control part 5 cuts off the current of the field winding 7a of a motor 7 without outputting a rotation direction indicating signal SR as well as the current flowing to a rotor winding 7b so as to demagnetize the magnetic force between a stator and a rotor.</p> |
