<p>PURPOSE: To perfectly manage a library by storing articles as a function of their sizes or available storage capacity at a deposit, and changing a storing place of the articles according to their usage frequency in performing physical management of the articles such as books at the library. CONSTITUTION: A deposit 1 consists of a given number of blocks, and each block has a storage unit 2 for accommodating products to be stored. In accesses to the blocks, a robot 4 moves in the X-direction or Y-direction. In other words, the accessed are performed by assist of a transtocker 3 for searching pre- selected storage units Xi, Yi. The robot 4 draws the unit 2 and takes out a required article 5. Then, the article 5 is connected to a conveyor 6 and introduced to a user. Similarly, the robot 4 on the conveyor 6 and the transtocker 3 puts the article 5 on an arbitrary available place in the deposit 1.</p> |
