PURPOSE:To prevent the recessing of the central section of a heating resistor, and to improve printing quality by forming a partial glaze between a common electrode shaped onto the surface of an insulating substrate and a discrete electrode oppositely faced to the common electrode and shaping the heating resistor connecting the surfaces of both electrodes oppositely faced to the surface of the partial glaze. CONSTITUTION:A common electrode 3, a discrete electrode 4, a partial glaze 5 and a heating resistor 6 are formed to a thermal head H, and currents are made to flow through the heating resistor 6 connected to the discrete electrode 4 and heat is generated when voltage is applied selectively to the discrete electrode 4 by driving an IC for drive. The heating resistor 6 is shaped onto the top face of the partial glaze 5 having a protruding cross section, and the printing section of the thermal head of the surface section of an overglazing layer covering the top face of the central section of the heating resistor 6 is formed to a protruding shape. Accordingly, when thermal recording paper P is pressure- welded to the printing section by a platen roll R, excellent contact pressure between the thermal recording paper P and the printing section is acquired. |
