PURPOSE:To perform mixture printing for document including vertical and lateral writings in the same document by separating printing data into lateral and vertical writing data, separately conducting a format rotation and a bit pattern development, and combining the both. CONSTITUTION:Printing data are stored from a host interface 1 into an interface buffer 2, and separated into lateral and vertical writing data by a data separator 3. The data are sent to a lateral writing data buffer 4 and a vertical writing data buffer 5. With the lateral writing as a standard format the data is not subjected to the format rotation in a format rotary unit 6 of a lateral writing data route, and the data is subjected to the format rotation in a format rotary unit 7 of a vertical writing data route. When the unit 6 receives data from the buffer 4, it develops it in a bit pattern, the unit 7 rotates its format at 90 deg. to develop it in the bit pattern. The outputs of the units 6, 7 are combined in a data composite unit 8 to form mixture printing data, which is stored in a printing buffer 9, and then printed by a printer 10. |
