<p>The invention of clones bearing nucleotide sequences of non-A, non-B hepatitis provides a method for testing blood to detect the presence of non-A, non-B hepatitis materials. The clone DNA is used as a hybridization probe to screen serum samples or biopsied liver specimens for homologous sequences. Polypeptides expressed by the cloned DNA may be used as antigens in assays to determine whether antibodies to non-A, non-B hepatitis are present.</p> |
