Mouth protector with covering member and strap member

A mouth protector comprises a covering member for the mouth region of the face and a strap member for fastening of the mouth protector in the region of the head. In the known mouth protectors the covering member is held around the ears by an elastic band or is pulled tight with a loop in the occipital region. This leads to undesired irritation which renders wearing of the mouth protector uncomfortable. In order to avoid this it is proposed that the strap member have a section comprising a loop-and-hook fastener.
