A device for locking mounted mine cars is to be created for a cage. The device is not only to lock pushed-on mine cars absolutely safely and reliably with moderate effort during the shaft transport, it is also to be applicable without problem for mine cars of any, possibly varying, dimensions. Such a locking device comprises clamping beams 5 held essentially parallel to the rails. The clamping beams 5 are held by pivotable levers 9 in such a way that they can be placed around shafts 8 above the top edge of the rails 6 and below the axles of the wheel sets 7 of mine cars against the insides of their wheels. In order to obtain reliable locking during the transport, the free ends of the double-armed levers 9 are preloaded towards one another by means of energy accumulators, for example tension springs 14, so that the free outer surface of the clamping beams 5 or the anti-wear linings 13 applied to them are pressed against the inner surfaces, facing one another, of the wheels. Thus a reliable hold is provided even when the number of wheels of the mine car varies and the wheel spacings of the mine car vary. <IMAGE>
