The invention relates to a transmitted-light projector, consisting of a light source, a condenser, a slide stage, and an objective (lens). It is the object of the invention to create a transmitted-light projector which is suitable in particular for the projection of LCDs and which is distinguished by the fact that when the distance of the projector from the projection screen is altered it is no longer necessary to alter the position in terms of height of the projected picture so that, by means of this projector, pictures can be projected without distortion onto horizontal projection screens independently of the size of the projected picture area. The invention consists in that the lower edge ray in the optical beam path which runs through the upper part of the condenser and the upper edge of the picture to be projected and ends in the lower edge of the picture projected is arranged horizontally or approximately horizontally and that the condenser is arranged at an acute angle with respect to the slide stage.
