PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF DIFLUORO HALO METHOXY PHENYL DERIVATIVE

The method of preparing difluorohalomethoxyphenyl derivatives (I) is described. In (I), A is oxygen atom or methylene group; X is chlorine atom or bromine; Y is hydrogen atom or fluoro atom. Thus, the mixture containing 1-(3-phenoxyphenyl)-4-(4methoxyphenyl)-4- methylpentane, hydrogen bromide and acetic acid is flowed back. The above mixture is cooled to room temperature and extracted with benzene. The extracts are washed with water and benzene contained in extracts is evaporated. The remainder of extracts is purified by the column chromatography to obtain 1-(3-phenoxyphenyl)-4-(4- hydroxyphenyl)-4-methylpentane.
