1. A ski binding (1, 1') for a cross-country or touring ski, comprising a base plate (2, 2') and a cradle (3, 3') mounted thereon for pivoting about a first transverse axis (4, 4') and retaining therein an extension (18a) of the sole of a ski boot (18) with the aid of a clamping member (10) mounted for pivoting about a third transverse axis (9) and retained in the skiing position is a locking member (15, 15') biased by a leaf spring (16) and mounted for pivoting about a fourth transverse axis (14, 14'), characterized in that said cradle (3, 3') contains a holding member (6, 6') for said extension (18a) of the sole of said ski boot (18), said holding member being of angular configuration in lateral elevation and mounted for pivoting about a second transverse axis (5, 5') located at a spaced location in front of said first transverse axis (4, 4') of said cradle (3, 3') - as seen from said ski boot (18) in the longitudinal direction of said ski binding (1, 1') - and that said locking member (15, 15') is formed as a crank lever having one arm (15a, 15'a) biased in the locking direction by said leaf spring (16) and adapted to come into engagement with a stop portion (2b) of said base plate (2, 2') or a bed-plate (20), respectively, in response to a forward fall of the skier, the other arm (15b, 15'b) of said crank lever having a detent nose (15c, 15'c) engaging a detent recess of said clamping member (10, 10') in the skiing position of said binding (1, 1'), the axis of said locking member (15, 15') being formed by said fourth transverse axis (14, 14') located in said cradle (3, 3'). |
