Automatic winding machines which offer the possibility of processing different yarn batches from run-off bobbins at the same time have to be divided into individual portions which each have either their own transport system or else a complicated feed device, in order to allow a fault-free feed of the different yarn batches to the winding stations assigned to them. Own transport systems for each individual yarn batch and a division of the automatic winding machine into individual portions located next to one another require a high outlay in control terms. In contrast, a simple and easily understandable design is offered by an automatic winding machine (1), in which the winding-machine portions (2a, 2b) have their supply connections (4a', 4b') combined on one head side (5a, 5b), the other head side (6a, 6b) being made freely accessible for feeding the run-off bobbins (13a, 13b).
