A lock plate is manufactured by powder metallurgy and has the composition of (in weight %) 0.3-0.6 C, 2-5% Ni, 1-2% Cu, 0.2-0.6% Mo and remainder Fe. The lock plate is sintered in the temperature range of 1150oC - 1250oC, quenchd at 850oC, tempered at 150oC, and plated in electroless bath of 20-50g/l nickel chrolide or nickel sulphide, 8-25g/l sodium hypophosphide and 10-30g/l sodium nitrate or sodium citrate in the condition of 4-5.5ph and 80-95oC.
