The method of producing a graver for engraving rock comprises the following processes. In the first process, one end of a circular rod is made to be positioned at a rectangular extrusion entrance in the center of a first die, the circular rod being foreingly pushed through the rectangular extrusion entrance by the force of a ram which is pneumatically or hydraulically operated, so that a rectangular part (4) can be made. In the second process, the first circular part is inserted into a second die, and being pushed by the ram, so that the second circular part which has a smaller diameter than the first circular part, can be made. In the third process a shank part (5) is made by a conventional cutting.
