PURPOSE:To obtain optical recording material excellent in writing property by adding Tl2Te3 to GeTe so that the mean composition of the optical recording material is expressed by (GeTe)x(Tl2Te3)y wherein x and y satisfy 5<y<=50 and x+y=100. CONSTITUTION:The optical recording material is Tl2Te3-added GeTe having the mean composition of (GeTe)x(Tl2Te3)y, wherein x and y satisfy 5<y<=50 and x+y=100. The Tl2Te3 added to GeTe lowers the m.p. of the material to make writing easy and acts as a nucleus of crystallization or a terminator of amorphous chains. It raises the transformation rate from amorphous state to crystal state and absorptivity of the recording film, which enhances the absorption efficiency of laser irradiation energy. By this method, erasing time is reduced, data transfer rate of optical disk can be raised, and repeatable times of writing and erasing can be increased. |
