PURPOSE:To perform cell-culture in large quantities and high density with a simple and compact apparatus without damaging the cell and reducing the consumption of gas by using a gas-exchange apparatus containing a hollow fiber bundle. CONSTITUTION:A gas-exchange apparatus containing a hollow fiber bundle 1 is used in cell-culture. The gas-exchange apparatus supplies a gas necessary for cultivation (e.g., O2) and exhausts a gas generated by the culture (e.g., CO2). Any hollow fiber having gas-exchange capability can be used as the constituent component of the hollow fiber bundle 1. The average pore size of the hollow fiber is e.g., about 34Angstrom -1mum. The material of the hollow fiber is e.g., cellulose triacetate, cellulose diacetate, regenerated cellulose, polypropylene, polyethylene, polytetrafluoroethylene or polyamide. A material free from hydropholicity is preferable among the above materials. |
