PURPOSE:To suppress the consumption of a developer and to decrease the collection quantity of the developer by monitoring the the light emission intensity of a light beam radiated from a semiconductor light emitting element in the course of recording an image, and correcting the light emission intensity which is adjusted automatically, based on the monitored light emission intensity, whenever an image recording processing of a page unit is ended. CONSTITUTION:By an optical output adjusting means, the light emission intensity of a light beam radiated from a semiconductor light emitting element is adjusted to a prescribed light quantity. Thereafter, whenever a page to image information is delimited, a light quantity correcting means corrects the light emission intensity of the light beam adjusted by the optical output adjusting means, based on a light emission intensity value of the light beam detected by a photodetecting element at the time of recording an image, and corrects and adjusts so that the light emission intensity of the light beam radiated from the semiconductor light emitting element becomes the prescribed light quantity. In such a way, an unnecessary developer consumption can be suppressed, and also, the capacity of a cleaner part for collecting the developer can be miniaturized remarkably. |
