PURPOSE:To supply stable power for long term with a smaller-sized generator by line series locating reformers containing methanol reforming catalyst in the position behind a reformer containing catalyst reforming city gas or natural gas. CONSTITUTION:In usual operation, city gas as fuel passes through a desulfurizer 6 and then reformed by a city gas reformer 7 containing reforming catalyst C1 into reformed gas enriched with hydrogen gas. If the supply of city gas is stopped, a methanol fuel supply pump 1 is immediately actuated to carry methanol via a valve 30 into a reformer. And the fuel is changed over to methanol fuel, valves 25 and 26 are opened and the heating burner of the reformer 3 is ignited to supply heat necessary to the reaction for atomization and reforming. Since the temperature of the reformer 3 is preset within the range of working temperature, no waiting time before the temperature is established is needed so that fuel may be changed over without momentary failure. |
