PURPOSE:To effectively decide information specifying a cause by deciding a measurement item for obtaining the real cause by means of a measurement item deciding program, executing measurement with respect to a diagnostic object in an information collection program, continuously executing a processing for collecting information and specifying the cause. CONSTITUTION:When information obtained from the diagnostic object 7 is not sufficient for specifying the cause, all causes which have possibility that the diagnostic object 7 is the cause causing abnormality are estimated. Namely, all candidates of the causes are generated based on structure discription and action discription in the data base 4 of the previously given diagnostic object 7. When the plural causes exist, the measurement item for effectively obtaining the real cause is decided based on the trouble probability of a constitution element in a data base 5 and cost required for measurement, and the cause is specified by repeating measurement with respect to the diagnostic object. Thus, information required for specifying the cause can effectively by decided even when information obtained from the diagnostic object 7 is insufficient for specifying the cause. |
