The invention relates to a veneer panel for fitting on doors and the like and to a process for production of the same. To make it possible for the veneer panel to be flexible and therefore able to be bent around onto a wide variety of workpieces, it is proposed by the invention that it has a waterproof nonwoven fabric onto which the veneer is glued and ground. To produce this veneer panel, it is further proposed that the veneer and the nonwoven fabric are coated with glue, whereupon pressing is carried out at 70@-80@ under a pressure of 3.5-4 bar, after which grinding of the veneer takes place. As a result, it is possible, inter alia, for conventional presses to be used, without any special machine being required.
