PRODUCTION OF OPTICALLY ACTIVE BETA-LACTAM COMPOUND

摘要

PURPOSE:To optically resolve an optically active beta-lactam compound from racemic beta-lactam compounds by using a cellulose (or amylose) tri-substituted phenylcarbamate. CONSTITUTION:A mixture containing respective optically active isomers of racemic beta-lactam compound derivatives is optically resolved using a cellulose tri-substituted phenylcarbamate or amylose tri-substituted phenylcarbamate into optically active isomers of the (+)-isomer (dextro-rotatory) and the (-)-isomer (levorotatory). The optically active beta-lactam compound is useful as an optically active precursor of beta-lactam-based antibiotic substances having wide antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
