A recording material which contains, as colour-formation system, (a) a colourless or pale-coloured dye precursor and (b) an aromatic isocyanate compound and, if necessary, (c) a colour developer has excellent image retention rates with respect to light stability and plastication resistance and has considerable colour freedom.
