PURPOSE:To generate efficiently various kinds of high purity particle beams in accordance with the purposes by a method wherein a positively forced-cooled anode is used to freeze a required substance on the surface of anode and a required particle beam is drawn therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A cold anode 1 is forced-cooled by a refrigirator 2 to freeze ice 3 of a substance desired to take out as a beam on the surface of anode in the required thickness. The anode is surrounded by a multiwinding coil 4 which is also used as cathode at the same time. A current is made to flow through the coil in a pulse form by means of a power source 5 for the coil while a magnetic field generated thereby within the coil controlls an electronic current flowing between the anode and cathode. Positive pulse high voltage is impressed on the anode through a high voltage generator 6 to ionize a part of an anode substance by creeping discharge on the surfaces of anode and cathode while the particle beam 7 is drawn through the cathode coil by means of the electric field between the anode and cathode. |
